Course Description

Workplace positive psychology exercises are relatively simple practices that can be incorporated into daily life and have the potential to benefit the well-being of individual employees and the organizations of which are they are a part. This webinar will review the repertoire of individual-level positive psychology exercises that have been adapted for use in the workplace and provide guidance on how to effectively implement them in practice. Exercises reviewed will include: job crafting, gratitude, acts of kindness, and the reflected best self exercise. The guidance offered will address practical limitations as well as caveats from researchers throughout this practitioner-oriented webinar.

You will learn:

  • To identify the various types of workplace positive psychology practices that have been evaluated by researchers
  • To follow guidelines for implementing specific evidence-based workplace positive psychology practices as a complement to more foundational ways of addressing employee well-being.
  • To carefully consider personal and organizational factors that may impact the effectiveness of these practices and their ability to cultivate more lasting changes.

Take-home messages:

  • Employees and organizations have a wide range of positive psychology exercises to choose from in the workplace based on their needs and preferences
  • Workplace positive psychology practices are not “one-size-fits-all”
  • Guidance from relevant research findings can help to shape the effective implementation of positive psychology practices in organizations.
